David Tennant On Death And The Queen A Brand New Doctor Who Adventure

Image
Donna Noble has never been lucky in love.
So when, one day, her Prince does come, she is thrilled to have the wedding of all weddings to look forward to. Though the Doctor isn’t holding his breath for an invitation. And her future mother-in-law is certainly not amused.
But on the big day itself, Donna finds her castle under siege from the darkest of forces, marching at the head of a skeleton army.
When it looks like even the Doctor can’t save the day, what will Queen Donna do to save her people from Death itself?

"Donna finally gets her fairy tale wedding - I mean you know that when a story starts with Donna preparing for her fairytale wedding, it's maybe not going to go exactly the way she's planned. But to say more than that would be to give it away!" says David Tennant.
"It's all sort of a twisted fairytale", he continues, "where you don't quite know what is actually going on behind the facade. It's set in a country which may or may not…

David Tennant And Catherine Tate On Time Reaver A Brand New Doctor Who Adventure

Image
Calibris. The spaceport planet where anything goes. Where anyone who doesn't want to be found can be lost, and where everything has its price. Where betentacled gangster Gully holds sway at the smugglers’ tavern, Vagabond’s Reach.
The alien Vacintians are trying to impose some order on the chaos. Soon the Doctor and Donna discover why. An illegal weapon is loose on the streets. A weapon that destroys lives… Slowly and agonisingly.

"A lot of this is set on a noisy planet," explains David Tennant, "so a lot of the time, it's just being told what level to shout at, really. So much of that is done afterwards, and you've no idea how much they're going to put underneath. They might stitch us up! When you're doing TV things, in like a nightclub, they always go 'Oh the music will be really loud, so make sure you're shouting all the way through.' I always do exactly what I'm told, and all the other actors just mumble, and then of course you see …

David Tennant And Catherine Tate On Technophobia A Brand New Doctor Who Adventure

Image
When the Doctor and Donna visit London’s Technology Museum for a glimpse into the future, things don’t go to plan.
The most brilliant IT brain in the country can’t use her computer. More worrying, the exhibits are attacking the visitors, while outside, people seem to be losing control of the technology that runs their lives.
Is it all down to simple human stupidity, or is something more sinister going on?
Beneath the streets, the Koggnossenti are waiting. For all of London to fall prey to technophobia...

"Technophobia has a clever twist I thought" says David Tennant. "Each of the stories has got a lovely central concept that's quite new, and very inventive and creative. That's always the things with these stories. They can sort of be.."
"A little bit generic?" asks Catherine Tate.
"Because the formula is 'baddie', 'Oooh, you're in danger', 'Oh it's all worked out alright!'"
"Yeah  - 'we'll throw in s…

"Audio Drama Can Be Very Seductive" David Tennant & Catherine Tate Talk Their Doctor Who Return

Image
Eight years after the Tenth Doctor and Donna finished their time travelling adventures together on screen in Doctor Who, David Tennant and Catherine Tate have teamed up once more to bring the much loved characters back to life for a brand new series of audio stories and the pair have spoken to the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine to explain why they were so keen to join forces once more.

"There is something intimate about having voices in your ears, I think, and allowing yourself to fill in the pictures. There's something quite potent about that. We are very fortunate in this country in that we have Radio 4 , which is a wonderful resource for such things, and it uses a slightly different part of your brain. Obviously it taps in to your imagination. But it can be very seductive, audio drama. I love it. I listen to it a lot, and it takes you somewhere. It fires up a particularly emotive and exciting part of your brain." says David.

It was David's idea for the Tenth…
