David Tennant On His Dream Dinner Party - Wizard World Comic Con

During the Sunday morning Q&A panel at last weekend's Wizard World Comic Con in Raleigh, N.C. David Tennant was asked to list guests for his fantasy dinner party. David found it easy enough to come up with plenty of names but worried about getting that crucial mix of guests just right.

"I'd like to have Shakespeare there, just to find out all the secrets that he took to his grave, I'd love to quiz him a bit," he said. "John Lennon, it'd be nice to meet John Lennon. Who would my third be...Hitchcock maybe? How the three of them would get on...probably really, really badly. It would be interesting though. But then there’s so many people. Nelson Mandela, it would be interesting to talk to him, wouldn't it? Martin Luther King. There's so many. I'd have to think about that."

It would be all about the chemistry of the dinner party, wouldn't it?" he considered. "I mean, if you put Shakespeare with the other ones he's probably going to spend the whole time wondering what the hell is happening and where he is. And why he's alive again, what this electricity is, what these mobile phones are. He’ll probably just spend the whole time catching up. So maybe he would be a bad choice. Unless you put him and Christopher Marlowe together – that would be interesting – and Queen Elizabeth? I don’t know. No, she'd be a nightmare!

"I’m going to think about that. I’m going to draw up several lists, cross-reference and get back to you."

Will David ever decide upon that tricky seating plan? You might get a chance to find out in May when he attends Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia on the 9th and 10th May with his Doctor Who co-star Billie Piper joining him for a dual panel on the 10th. Tickets are on sale now - check here for details.
