Stand Up To Cancer 7.30pm Tonight On Channel 4

It's here - stars from television, music and film are coming together tonight for "Stand Up To Cancer" - a unique new fundraising campaign on Channel 4 from 7.30pm. Joining forces with Cancer Research UK, Friday's live fundraising event hosted by Davina McCall, Alan Carr and Dr Christian will be joined by a super-sized group of celebrities to show their support for SU2C UK, including: Kylie Minogue , Jennifer Aniston, Cheryl Cole, George Clooney, Bradley Cooper, Samuel L Jackson, Leona Lewis , Gwyneth Paltrow, The Simpsons, Will Smith, Derren Brown, Jenson Button, Jimmy Carr, Tom Daley, Martin Freeman, Anna Friel, Alesha Dixon, Miranda Hart, JLS, Chris O'Dowd, Bear Grylls, and David Haslehoff.
Jennifer Aniston said: "Cancer touches all our lives, which is why we need to Stand Up To Cancer, right here on Channel 4."
Alan Carr will front a super-sized chat show with the best green room ever, packed with A-list stars both from the UK and the US. Building on the success of Carr's recent "Spectacular", audiences will also be treated to special sketches, VTs and high octane star-studded stunts.
Alan Carr revealed: "Pretty much everyone will be affected by this disease in their lifetime, and that's the very simple reason why I'm honoured to be involved with this campaign. Like so many people, I've seen exactly how destructive the big C is. I've lost two people already this year to cancer, and friend of mine who has been diagnosed with throat cancer is having her voice box removed next week, and won't speak again. So we need to raise a lot of money."
Alan and his friend Sam, who he mentions above, will also feature in one of the short films shown during the evening.
Speaking of short films...

Davina will host a high stakes version of Two Million Pound Drop, aiming to raise big money for Stand Up To Cancer - building on the show's successful history of charity editions, which recently saw the recent Celebrity Games specials raise a spectacular £700,000 for 14 different Paralympic and disability charities.
Davina said: "Cancer is a scary word....one that strikes fear into our hearts. Amazing discoveries and medical breakthroughs are happening all the time, if we 'Stand Up To Cancer' we can all help kick cancer's butt"
Throughout the night, our doctor in residence, Dr Christian Jessen, will be on hand to explain some of the science behind the incredible new cancer trials we hope to fund, and to introduce stories of those who have been affected by cancer and whose lives depend on new breakthroughs in cancer research.
During the show a number of performance 'battles' between two dance troupes will reveal the amount of money raised so far. They are performed in front of specially 4D mapped projections which end with the £ numbers smashing through.
