David Tennant Now Officially On The Board Of The RSC

David Tennant has now been officially elected onto the Board of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

David was co-opted for election several months ago and was part of the panel that appointed Gregory Doran as the new artistic director of the RSC earlier this year. The official vote took place at the company's AGM yesterday where David's appointment, along with that of James Shapiro and Sir William Atkinson, faced election. They will serve in post for three years. The Board is made up of around 15 non-salaried people chosen for their skills and experience.

It has been a record year for the RSC with the box office takings more than doubling during 2011/2012 and overall turnover topping more than £50m.

David has now been added to the RSC Who's Who page.
